Athletics in Scotland will be sad to hear of the passing of well-known coach John Freebairn.
Also known as a goalkeeper in professional football, John became a renowned throws coach and Masters athlete. He was the lead Throws Coach for Scotland at one time.
At the 1986 Commonwealth Games, he was the coach for shot putt for host nation Scotland.
