2019 Cross Country International – England

Southport and Aintree 16th November

FINAL NOTES

This note is just to let people know how arrangements have been finalised for accommodation, travel and meals.

HOTEL – PREMIER INN, SOUTHPORT CENTRAL

The rooms booked at the team hotel have now been fully paid. Most folk who are sharing rooms will know who they are with, but if you need to check - contact Ada, John or Andy. Those arriving by car can park free of charge at the hotel, just let the reception know your registration number. The team coach will also park at the hotel. On arrival give your names to reception - they have our room list to speed things up.

We will arrange a meeting at the bar area, or function room (waiting to hear if available) of the hotel on Friday evening at 6.00pm where we will: -

  1. Give details of transport to and from Aintree. We will be using the team coach and individual cars. The coach can do two runs if necessary.
  2. Handing out vest and shorts to those who have ordered them.
  3. If we have tickets for the meal and programmes (£1 each) for the Saturday hand these out.
  4. Confirm any other last-minute details.

Those unable to attend the Friday meeting can pick up on things by phoning John or Andy, or by contacting team members at the hotel. Breakfast is being served from 07:00 until 11:00 and we think the hotel will have us in their function room, to be confirmed at check-in.

The hotel is approximately half a mile from Southport Theatre and Convention Centre Floral Hall, where the evening presentation and dinner will be held.

COACH TRAVEL

The coach leaving Glasgow (as last year, opposite the Caledonian University on Cowcaddens Road) will call at Bothwell Services (if required) and Junction 44 Carlisle. Those wishing to join at Bothwell please let Andy know. It will leave Glasgow at 10:00 (arrive by 09:45 if possible) and return Sunday 17th after breakfast. It’s a 53 seater and there are still a few seats (5) available. Let Andy Law know of any requests – lawchgair@aol.com .  The cost of the coach is £33 per head, which includes the driver’s meals, accommodation and a reasonable gratuity.

EVENING EVENT/MEAL

We have paid EAMA for 102 tickets and have notified them of any special dietary requirements we made aware of.  There is one space still to be confirmed in that 102, so if anyone has not booked, but wants to go that is still available.

PAYMENT AND CONTACTS

Most have paid by now or have contacted Andy to let him know of cheque, cash or online payments being made.

For those who you are not using any of the accommodation, coach or evening event options, you’ll get a payment of £50 travel subsidy or the balance dependent on what options have been taken up.  Andy will post/hand out cheques at the event or afterwards.  Anyone wanting this paid by online transfer, let Andy know your Sort Code and Bank Account Number and he’ll arrange that.
